What the Kira Talent Assessment Is, and Why It Matters
Kira Talent is the asynchronous video and written-response platform used by a growing number of CAAPID and Advanced Standing dental programs — including Columbia University, NYU College of Dentistry, and Indiana University School of Dentistry — as a pre-interview or first-stage screening step.
You’ll be shown a prompt, given a short prep window, and then recorded answering on camera within a fixed time limit. The recording is submitted the moment the timer ends; there’s no replay, no restart, and no live proctor to read your intent from.
For CAAPID applicants specifically, Kira is evaluating something narrower than general communication skill: whether you can translate your international clinical training into the reflective, patient-centered language U.S. programs expect, under time pressure, on the first take.
